The Illinois State Board of Health has addressed a communication to Superintendents of railroads throughout Illinois, calling their attention to the alarming prevalence of small-pox, and requesting them to take certain precautions regarding the train hands, and particularly those officiating on emigrant trains, on which it is believed the disease is more apt to be brought and communicated to the public through railroad men, who are likely to suffer contagion in the ordinary pursuit of their vocation.
