Centreville Woman Left Unconscious in Doorway by Assailant

Miss Beatrice L. Wheeler, proprietor of a beauty parlor, was waylaid in the doorway of her second-floor apartment, knocked unconscious and robbed of $21 while theatre-goers passed on a sidewalk within a few feet. Her assailant escaped. Miss Wheeler was found lying in the doorway by Mr. and Mrs. Hines Hardesty when they turned from visiting relatives. When Miss Wheeler was revived by a physician, she told of how the attack had occurred. She had stepped out of the shop, when she noticed a dark figure crouching in a corner. Then she felt a blow on the head and lost consciousness. Her empty handbag was found in the living room.
