CHICAGO--(ANP)—Further investigation into the shooting and
killing of Charles "Chuck" Green,
30, 4420 Indiana avenue, well
known Chicago clubman, and a
charter member of the Olde Tymers
club, was instituted by both
police and coroner's officials this
week, after new slants had been
cast on the slaying of Green last
Friday by a woman, Mrs. Martha
Robertson, 33, 4403 Indiana avenue.
The woman at first had told
police the shooting was accidental
as the gun she was examining
went off, striking Green.
The gun was missing when
police went to investigate and it
was said that a Pullman porter
had "hiked" the weapon out of
town at the behest of the Robertson
woman in whose apartment
Green was killed.
Only Green and the woman were
in the room at the time of the
shooting, although in other parts
of the house were Green's alleged
common-law
wife, Clementine
Brown and two other people.
