Full Text

Arrested on a Telegram.

Detective Wetherhorn was notified yesterday by telegram from Waycross to arrest a man by the name of Waring, on the charge of cheating and swindling. It appears that Waring, who is a commercial traveler for a Baltimore liquor house, gave a draft for $75, which he cashed in Waycross, and the draft was protested, but before Waring was arrested the house thought better of it and honored the draft.

Justice Naughtin felt satisfied that Waring had acted in good faith in giving the draft, and let him go on his own recognizance, and Detective Wetherhorn said last night that the letter from the house to Waring showed that the draft had been honored, and the prisoner was discharged.
