Anchorage Republicans To Submit Statehood Resolution to Convention

ANCHORAGE—Anchorage Republicans today announced adoption of a statehood resolution for submission to the San Francisco Republican convention which they hoped to have included in the national party platform.

"We favor and strongly urge statehood for Alaska under a statehood bill providing for Alaskan control of Alaska's resources," the resolution said.

President Paul Robison of the Anchorage Republican club said he believed most Republicans and many Alaskans were dissatisfied with the present statehood bill and believed all Republicans would join forces to urge a new bill on the basis of the resolution.
