LONDON, August 8.

Thursday came on to be tried at the assizes at Salisbury (before the Hon. Mr. Justice Buller, and a Special Jury of the county) two causes brought by Samuel Petrie, Esq: against a noble Lord for bribery, at the last election for Cricklade: when, after a trial of eleven hours in the former, and four in the latter, a verdict was given against his Lordship in the first action for 2000l. and in the second action for 2000l. And no less than 113 more actions were remaining to be tried on the same matter.
