NEBRASKA CROOK CAPTURED.
Henry Owens Lodged Behind Bolt and Bars.
CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis., Special Telegram, Feb. 14.—The Nebraska crook, Henry Owens, who recently obtained $400 from L. M. Newman, cashier of the First National bank here, by misrepresenting that he had money on deposit at Creighton, Neb., on which he gave a check for the amount, was brought to the city at 10:30 this evening by Under Sheriff Lapham, who had captured his man in western Montana, and is now lodged in jail here. That Owens came with the officer without requisition, seems that he cannot fear the law of which certainly is not ignorant, having been district attorney of Creighton for several years. Cashier Newman does not expect to recover the money.
