EDITORIAL SQUABBLES.--New York papers contain circumstantial details of a recent hard fought "battle" between Col. Webb, of the Courier and Enquirer, and Mr. Leggett, editor of the "Evening Post." The belligerents met in Broadway, it seems, almost by accident, and proceeded without ceremony to the business of the meeting not altogether unlooked for by either. The redoubtable colonel, in the warmth of his feelings, played off a few rounds upon his adversary with a cane, and in return the knight of the Post had the pleasure of taking a friendly "bite" at the colonel's fore-finger; when the by-standers interfered with "plenipotentiary powers" and prevented further progress in the canine operation. Alas! for the refinement of the west! How far they are ahead of us in New York!
