Charles F. Guard, the 14 year old son of Henry Guard, of New Market, was accidentally shot in the jaw by David E. Wise, the 14 year old son of Mr. P. S Wise, of the same place. The gun was an old musket, and the accident occurred while the boys were hunting rats.
