VIRGINIA.—Mr. Borland, of the House of Delegates, has submitted to it the following resolution for its adoption:

Resolved, That the committee of Finance be, and is hereby, instructed to enquire as to the expediency, at this time, of imposing a tax on the Branch Banks of the United States, located in this state, and known and designated by the name of offices of the Bank of the United States, and make a report thereon.

On motion of Mr. Smith, of Isle of Wight this resolution was laid on the table.
