Will Remain in Port for 24 Hours--Smoker Is Wanted by Crews.
The United States Eagle Boats No. 57 and 38 will arrive at Juneau tomorrow morning at 6 o'clock with the First and Fourth Divisions of the First Battalion, Naval Reserve Force, Thirteenth Naval District, on their annual summer cruise. They left Bremerton last Saturday and expect to spend one day at Juneau, returning to Bremerton July 15.
This forenoon Commander Quillon, of 57, cabled to the Commander of the American Legion, Juneau:
"The U. S. S. Eagles 57 and 38 arrive at Juneau morning of the 6th remain until morning of 7th."
Wants a Smoker.
Another wireless message from Commander Guillon requesting the American Legion to arrange a smoker while the Eagle boats are in port, was received by M. H. Sides, Adjutant. He advised there are three lightweights among the crew and that one bout had already been arranged between the crews of the two ships. He asked for matches for the three lightweights, in Juneau, but so far no opponents have been found.
The Legion wired him that Johnson, who weighs 145 pounds, is willing to give away ten pounds to get a match. No reply has yet been received.
The ring is still intact at Elks' Hall and is being held pending the final arrangements to be made with the ships. The smoker, if held, will be tomorrow night, at popular prices, Adjutant Sides said.
