"Having weighed and considered this plan with the temper, calmness, and deliberation that the importance of the subject, and the present critical situation of affairs, demand, we are sincerely sorry that we cannot think the terms pointed out afford a just and reasonable ground for a final accommodation between Great Britain and the colonies."

Event Details
The General Assembly of Pennsylvania met according to adjournment. The Governor sent a message and ordered the Secretary to present Lord North's plan of reconciliation, resolved in the House of Commons on the 20th of February last. The Assembly considered the plan and responded with regret that its terms were insufficient for accommodation between Great Britain and the colonies.
