Mrs. Grace Ferrell and Miss Winnie Mae Mackie have returned from Santa Ana where they represented the county superintendent of schools office at the conference held for supervisors of rural schools in Southern California.

Miss Helen Heffernan of the state department of education who is in charge of the state elementary schools, was present and gave a splendid talk.

Various problems were discussed in particular a better type of P.-T.A. organization.

A new P.-T.A. manual for use in rural schools will be published and special attention will be paid to health problems. Discussion of school health problems also occupied the conference.
