The Prince Royal of Denmark has lately established a Board of Longitude at the University of Copenhagen, the chief employment of which will be to calculate Ephemerides in a nautical almanack, as likewise the moon's distances from the planets, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn, and thereby to increase and render less difficult the methods for finding the longitude at sea. This commission is to consist of Professor Bygge, of an extraordinary Professor of Astronomy, and two Adjuncts. The Director of the commission must annually deliver a distinctly written copy of the Ephemerides calculated by them, together with the moon's distances from the above planets, to the director of the Depot of Sea Charts, who is to superintend the printing and publishing of them.
