ON ALASKA BUTTER

SEATTLE, June 27.—The Seattle Chamber of Commerce reported yesterday it had lodged a protest with the War Food Administration against its recent order requiring butter for Alaska to come out of civilian stocks instead of from Government "set-aside" quotas.

Chairman E. N. Patty of the Chamber's Alaska Development Department, said similar action had been taken by Alaskan Chambers of Commerce. The order, he said, was brought the prediction that the butter supply for Alaska and western Washington will be cut to 25 per cent of the amount the area now can purchase.
