THROUGH the channel of your useful paper, there is exhibited a just prohibition (according to law) against Tavern-Keepers allowing gambling, &c. in their houses and premises—it is, however, as necessary that such prohibition (contrary to law) should extend to Store-Keepers likewise, who sell or retail spirits in their Stores and rooms adjoining, by the pint and half pint, furnishing their guests with water, &c. to the great prejudice of the Tavern-Keepers in the several towns—A hint (in a better style) to prevent some of those Jewish retailers from breaking the laws of their country more than other citizens, will be gratefully acknowledged by many of your constant readers in Martinsburg, and elsewhere, who are determined to present them to the next grand jury, if they will in future persist in a practice which is not only contrary to the law, but highly degrading to the character which they ought to sustain.

Main Argument
the prohibition against tavern-keepers allowing gambling should extend to store-keepers retailing spirits by the pint, as they break the law and prejudice tavern-keepers; a warning to prevent jewish retailers from such practices is requested, with threats of grand jury presentation if continued.
