Full Text

The records of Duelling does not exhibit a fact of so sanguinary and horrid a nature as that which we have now the disagreeable task of stating. Two young gentlemen, sojourners in this place, in consequence of a dispute, the particulars of which we have not learnt, met on the Portsmouth side yesterday (Sunday) about 3 o'clock, P. M. with their seconds: when each, presenting a pistol close to the other's breast, the word fire! being given, both were shot through the heart, fell, and instantly expired! For particular reasons we forbear to mention the names of these infatuated young men at this time: probably we may notice the subject more at large in our next.--Norfolk Herald, Dec. 23.
