Office Holders.--The "allies" are always telling about Democratic office holders interfering in elections, electioneering, &c. But they never say a word about their own office holders doing the same thing; and they never have those who do not. Indeed they would not vote for a man who would not use his official influence to keep up their miserable cause. The call for the "Independent State Convention" was signed by nine persons calling themselves the "Independent Democratic State Committee," four of whom are office holders, and one is a resident of Maine and was a candidate for Congress there at the late election! This is their horror of office holders meddling with politics.--Nashua Gazette.
