MORRELL HELD TO ANSWER.

He Remains In Jail in Default of Fifteen Thousand Dollars Bail.

FRESNO, Feb. 21.—Ed Morrell had a preliminary examination before Justice Crichton this morning on the charge of highway robbery.

City Marshal Morgan was the only witness examined, he giving the facts concerning Evans and Morrell's holding him up at the time of their escape from jail December 25th.

At the close of the examination Morrell was held to appear in the Superior Court in $15,000 bonds, in default of which he was sent back to jail.
