A Washington dispatch makes mention of the fact that the Financial Committee of the Rump Congress is junketing in New England, and will meet in Boston on the 21st of October to take testimony from the New England manufacturers as to what articles of raw material should be put on the free list, and what manufacturers require greater protection than is at present accorded them; also what modifications of the tax law New England has to suggest. The New England interests will be protected, "though the heavens fall."
