Once again we bow our heads in gratitude to God for the mothers of the world who have sacrificed themselves that we might be able to enjoy the best. What the world says in literature of mothers, living and dead, as beautifully as it may be phrased, does not touch the love within a mother's breast, nor do gifts and flowers bring any compensation for the countless number of deeds mothers do for their children. The many furrows plowed over mother's brow, the many silver threads through her hair have often been caused through our carelessness and thoughtlessness. Realizing the unnecessary cares we place upon mothers, may we resolve to lighten mother's burden by letting our lives shine, letting our conduct speak the beautiful sentiments we write and say. To those whose mothers have been placed beneath the green of the earth and whose souls have gone to rest and to wait-may we urge you to so live that they may not wait in vain. If we would bring mother, whether she is living or dead, the greatest joy, we would offer ourselves to God that day after day our lives would blossom forth in true beauty.
