THE MASONIC INSTITUTE
Closing Exercises-The Young Folks Acquit Themselves with Honor.

The closing exercises of Prof. Karns school at the Masonic Institute took place Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

The students acquitted themselves to the satisfaction of all, and to the credit of their teachers-Prof. Karns and Miss Mayfield. The music for the occasion was delightful, and was furnished by Miss Adelia Hughes' music class. The exercises Tuesday night consisted of speeches and compositions as follows:

Prayer by Rev. A.L. Miller.
Roger and I, R. H. Carson.
Mt. Vernon, Miss Bessie Tipton.
Two Glasses, Miss Sadie Gaut.
Theodore, Master John Day,
What the Moon Saw, Miss Mable Davis.
Savin' Mother, Miss Tillie Gray.
Resolved that Steam is a greater discovery than electricity. Affirmative, Miss Nannie Blair; Negative, Miss Callie Rogers.
Florry's Mischief, Miss Bell Ford.
Man's Achievements, J. L. McReynolds.
Westminster Abbey, Miss Rosa Fletcher.

Early Impressions Cling to the Memory Through Life, Miss Mamie Rogers.

The programme for Wednesday night was as follows:
