A large Sleigh containing a Number of Gentlemen, drawn by 4 Horses, returning to Town from a small Excursion into the country, met at the Entrance of the Town Betty Whittemore riding in a Chair. The Horses were drove with great Violence, and being near the Chair before it could be seen, there was no Time to turn out of the Way; the Horses and Sleigh came with such Violence as to throw Betty, break her Chair, and kill her Horse.
