New-Orleans. We are sorry to state, that the last accounts from New-Orleans, advise, that the yellow fever rages immoderately in that devoted city. In its marches it pays but little respect to age, sex or condition, sweeping off indiscriminately the native, the acclimated citizen and the stranger. The fever will probably prevail till the frosts of November shall have arrived; hence those of our New-England friends who are in the habit of visiting Louisiana, should not adventure on their voyage, at too early a day. By the same advices, we learn, that business of every description, save that which is performed by the undertaker, is exceedingly dull in the city, every thing being suspended on account of the prevailing sickness. Freights were dull, and the markets glutted with the produce of the upper country. Cotton remained stationary, and holders were holding on for better prices, which they expected to realize, after the suppression of the prevailing epidemic.
