They write from Hamburgh, that all the Country Houses round Hamelen, which might have been of Use to the Enemy in their Approaches to the Town are destroyed ; that a strong Garrison was thrown into it by Major General de Brunck, and that they were preparing for a vigorous Defence in Case of a Siege.

The same Letters add that a Manifesto was expected to be published soon by his Prussian Majesty, against the Empress of Russia, and that it was reported the Grand Signior had offered his Mediation for a Peace between the Empress Queen and the King of Prussia.
