NEW YORK--Officials of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People praised the National Emergency Council's Report on Economic Conditions of the South published last week.
While association officials pointed out that the report lacked, to a considerable degree, a specificity of information regarding the status of the Negro in the South and how his artificial status has contributed largely to the present economic condition of the South, nevertheless, they asserted that the report has opened the door for a concerted attack on the solution to the ills of this section of the country which President Roosevelt has termed the nation's No. 1 economic problem.
