Morehouse Straw Poll Heavy In Favor Of Ike

On Wednesday, October 31, a straw poll was conducted on the campus of Morehouse College to elect the President of the United States. The poll was conducted by the Young Democrats and the Young Republicans of Morehouse under the auspices of the Department of History and Political Science.

In this poll, in which 167 students and ten faculty members cast their ballots the results were the following:

Eisenhower: 107 student votes and six faculty votes Stevenson: 60 student votes and four faculty votes.

Thus an overwhelming majority of the students voting and a majority of the faculty members voting showed a preference for the return of President Eisenhower and Richard Nixon as President and Vice-President of the United States for the next four years.
