CORN PROSPECTS GOOD.
Nebraska Railroad Reports for the Past Week Are Favorable.

OMAHA, Neb., Sept. 7.—According to the different Nebraska railroads, whose corn reports were issued to-day, the past week has been very favorable to the growers of the corn, and the reports are the best issued during the season.

A great improvement is shown in the plant due to the hot weather and winds of the week, the temperature having been several degrees above normal throughout the State. According to these reports the weather has been ideal for the growth of corn.

The report of the Burlington says if the frost holds off until the last of September the corn will make heavier yields than last year. If a killing frost occurs before Sept. 15 fully one-half the crop will be ruined. The plant in western Nebraska is much further advanced than in the eastern districts.
