SANDY BEACH ROAD PROJECT COMPLETED

The road to Sandy Beach is finished, Manager Robert Hays of the El Centro chamber of commerce announced today. It is in passable condition to within 500 feet of Salton Sea. The road is three and three-fourths miles long.

Sunday, members of the junior chamber of commerce, Imperial Yacht club and motor boat owners will visit the sea and start work on a pier and ramp for launching boats to be used during Imperial Valley's mid-winter outboard regatta January 12th.

With the completion of the road to Sandy Beach the people of Imperial Valley acquired a substantial asset, Hays said today. Sandy Beach and Salton Sea are going to do a lot towards developing this community, and in the meantime, Valley folk will have, for nine months in the year, a beach and a body of water which is to all practical purposes, the ocean, he declared.
