Colonel Maxent de St. Maxent, Governor pro tem. of Pensacola, requested an interview with Governor Claiborne, at Pascagoula—which has taken place. The result of this interview has not transpired. Rumor says they are treating about the delivery of Mobile to the U. States.
A gentleman near this place received a letter from New-Orleans by the last mail which states, that Colonel Kemper was there, and had said, that in case the United States did not take possession of Mobile in a short time, he would march at the head of five hundred and eighty Conventionalists and take it.—Mobile Centinel.
