UNEXPECTED AID IS GIVEN RUTH JUDD

COURTROOM, FLORENCE, ARIZ., April 21.--Dr. Joseph Catton, famed San Francisco alienist, gave unexpected aid to Winnie Ruth Judd at the condemned woman's sanity hearing. The psychiatrist called as a state witness, told the jury, which will send Mrs. Judd to a state asylum or to the gallows, that, in his opinion, she was "60 percent insane." He qualified this, however, by saying she suffered mainly from "neurosis of the condemned," and that "her condition probably would become ameliorated if she was granted a commutation of sentence."
