Full Text

We have a merry Account from Angus, of a certain Spark whom the Minister was absolving from the Repenting-Stool, after the ordinary Times of Appearance, for the Sin of Fornication, viz. that after the Parson had declared his Satisfaction with his Repentance, and given him the Absolution, the Youth turned the Chair, and declared his Dissatisfaction with the Minister, on Account of his not obeying the Law by reading the Act for bringing to Justice the Murderers of Capt. Porteous; adding, that he would for once read it for him, which he did accordingly. This odd Behaviour, however, 'tis said, was received by the Congregation with abundance of good Humour.
