It is with much Grief I acquaint you of my great Misfortune which I met with the 23d, at One o'Clock in the Morning, 5 Leagues W. S. W. from Dominica; being boarded by a Spanish-Pirate, and after being stripped and used barbarously was turned adrift with my Boat without Water, or Provisions of any Kind. I cannot inform you rightly where she belonged to; only from what they told me, which was, that she did belong to Margarita, and that the Captain's Name was Anthony. She had one Carriage, and 12 Swivel Guns, and 24 Hands: but had manned six Prizes, and for the most part cruises off Dominica, and had been there for five Weeks. I beg you to send this Account to my Owners in Salem.
