Extract of a letter received last evening, from a gentleman in London to his friend in this town, dated Sept. 23, 1795:
" I received your papers and immediately informed Mr. Bayard and his Proctor, thereof. They informed me that the process has commenced against Jarvis and Gray, and the Judge has allowed them till November next to make their defence, and it is supposed they will endeavour to procrastinate the trial as long as they can. I shall urge your business as much as possible, and there is little doubt of finally obtaining the end. The greatest difficulty will be in preventing those delays which are too much practised in this country."
