Full Text

Gov. Thomas, of Maryland, whose domestic difficulties, resulting in the separation of his wife, have become somewhat notorious, has addressed a letter to one of the editors in his State, concluding as follows:

"I do not seek the aid of legal process to establish the existence of, or a means of redressing wrongs, in which I alone am concerned.-- To confuse and confound the public judgment, the principal and most guilty parties in this case have filled the land with imputations on my personal character, generally. The falsehood of these I seek a suitable opportunity to demonstrate. This opportunity, in consequence of their intimate connexion with my domestic misfortunes, a judicial investigation can alone afford. With that view, Gov. McDowell has been invited, Col. Benton has been defied to meet me before a Court of Justice."
