Full Text

Sunday in Winnipeg. In a list of Canadian cities that run street cars Sundays The Toronto World includes Winnipeg. This is a mistake. Street cars have never been permitted to run Sundays here, and we are persuaded that the citizens, by an overwhelming majority, would vote down any such proposal if it were made. Without believing that man was made for the Sabbath, the people of Winnipeg are yet proud of the decent, orderly observance of the day manifested by all classes, and nothing would induce them to consent to a change. -Winnipeg Free Press
