BEVERLY, Mass., April 9.—Fire yesterday damaged to the extent of $1,000 a large boarding house on Home street occupied by Nathan G. Huse. The house was full of boarders. The fire was evidently an incendiary one, having been set in four places. The firemen found the fire in the sewing room confined to a lounge and a bundle of rags. Mrs. Huse says that last night her husband slept on this lounge. Huse asserts that in leaving the room when the alarm of fire was given he knocked down a lamp, which exploded, setting fire to the room, and that he put the fire out. The insurance is $2,500, of which $1,000 was obtained last February.
