No decision has been announced as yet by the State Tax Commission in Baltimore on two Garrett county cases which were brought before it last Friday.
One case concerned the placing of the Mountain Lake Park Association's property back on the tax books of the county after having been exempt from taxation for several years.
The other case concerned a tract of land in the county, which is known as Mount Nebo and which was recently purchased by Charles McHenry Howard, of Baltimore, for $10,000. The property is assessed at $38,000. The appeal was made to the tax commission to lower the assessed value from the present valuation.
The County Commissioners were represented by Neil C. Fraley, attorney to the board, while the Park Association was represented by E. R. Jones. Messrs. Blaine Giessman, Virgil T. Steyer and John W. Herman, commissioners; R. C. McComas, supervisor of assessments; Walter G. Meyers, clerk to the commissioners, accompanied by Mr. Fraley, went to Baltimore Saturday morning. C. A. Tower and C. A.
