C. A. Bennett, the horseradish and garden-truck man, was arrested by Constable Dick Norris near his home at Buck Creek at a late hour last Monday upon a peace warrant sworn out by his wife during the afternoon before Judge Weeks. He was admitted to bail, to appear for a hearing at 2 o'clock this afternoon.
Mrs. Bennett claims that she and her husband had a few words on Saturday, and, as a finale to the discussion, he struck her several times, threatened to shoot her and took her 15-months-old babe away from her. He then told her that either he or she must leave the house, and she came to Ottawa. Constable Norris accompanied her home last evening, where she recovered the child.
Bennett lays the blame of the quarrel upon her, and says that he will never live with her again.
