MR. ADAMS,
THE Subscriber observing his name in the list (published by authority) of persons voted for, as a Representative to the Congress of the United States, for the First District—he takes the earliest opportunity to express his most grateful acknowledgments, for the distinguished mark of the confidence of his fellow citizens; and to inform them, that his present situation obliges him to decline the honor of being considered as a candidate at the ensuing election.
