Full Text

An inquest was held to-day, (Sept. 8th) over the body of Willis Swanson, who died at his house in this place, in the early part of the morning. The jury pronounced that the deceased's death was caused by certain "violent and inhuman blows," inflicted by the hands of one Isaac Kyser, and Mary Swanson," wife of said Willis. Kyser has been taken into custody, but the lady has taken French leave--She is however hotly pursued by the Police, and will no doubt soon be safely lodged in jail. As the affair will shortly undergo a judicial investigation, we forbear any further comments, other than that the deceased was an intemperate man, but when sober an inoffensive citizen.

P S. Mary Swanson is since taken and lodged in jail.--Rock. Register.
