The convention wound up Saturday night with a fund-raising dinner and address by Secretary of the Interior Fred Seaton, substituting for ailing Postmaster General Arthur Summerfield.
The platform urged establishment of a strong two-party government in Georgia, more money for teachers and more GOP participation in state government.
At the domestic level, the platform called for a "new approach" to settling the problems of small farmers.
The platform called on the Democratic Party in Georgia, which holds its pre-convention executive session in May, to join the GOP in demanding that state officials take the steps necessary to "assure the uninterrupted forward progress of public education in this state."

"We trust that the native good will, common sense and respect for the rights and feelings of others will enable the citizens of Georgia to take the necessary steps to preserve our system of public education," the adopted platform said.
It added that uninterrupted public education is "unquestionably the most important issue that has ever faced the people of this state."
Potter delivered a real tub-thumper of a speech for Nixon. He said Republicans everywhere should adopt the slogan that "Nixon is the best qualified man in this country to be president."
"Don't you think it's possible to carry Georgia for Nixon," Potter said, and the audience shouted its approval.
