Booker T. Washington leads off the prep pigskin action for the weekend by coming to grips with Spencer High of Columbus, Ga., tonight at 8 p.m., in Herndon Stadium.

George Washington Carver Vocational School plays hosts to Athens of Athens, Ga. Friday at the same site.

David T. Howard High journeys to Macon, Georgia for a tussle with the Ballard-Hudson High Tigers.

The BTW Bulldogs in meeting the Spencer High Greenies will be seeking to get back into the winning groove following their 13-0 set-back last Friday (the thirteenth) at the hands of an inspired Carver Maroon Panthers squad.

Friday, the Maroon Panthers will be busy showing the Gate City that their victory over the Bulldogs was no fluke.

Coach L. C. Baker will introduce a revamped lineup against the visiting Greenies. He'll have hard-running Melvin Brown and Robert Stovall handling the bulk of the ball-carrying chores.

The Bulldogs have a dependable punting star in Alfred Wilks, who dueled Carver High's James Calhoun in this department last week.

BTW doesn't have much information on the Greenies, but the Columbus team always has been tough to beat. The South Georgia boys are experienced and stand to show plenty of razzle-dazzle stuff to the locals.

David T. Howard High is seeking to maintain its blistering pace against Ballard-Hudson. Last Friday afternoon the Rams had it tough before downing Athens High 13-0. The Macon team always plays Gate City elevens with savagery and ferocity.

Carver High, with its gilt-edge backs Howard Calhoun, Lavon Green, Greensberry Jinks, and Jesse

Holliday will carry the offensive to the Athens team.

D. T. Howard at the moment has the upper hand in the city championship race.

The Rams also lead the Big Seven Conference.

However, the Rams can throw the city title into a tie if they lose to Washington High on Nov. 17 at Herndon Stadium.
