PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 8.

By our latest Accounts from the Westward we learn, that the Garrisons at Pittsburgh, and on the Communication, are well. That the Visits of Indians are frequent, which bear hard on the Article of Provisions, the Transporting of which is attended with no small Labour and Expence at this Season. That General FORBES (whose Attention to publick Business was not diverted by Indisposition) having given Orders to the Commanding Officer at Pittsburgh, to make diligent Enquiry after the Enemy's Cannon, which he was satisfied they neither had Time nor Opportunity to carry off. Two short Twelve pounders have Been discovered in the River, by the Information of an Indian, and they expect to find the whole. A clear Proof of the precipitate Retreat of the Enemy, and some Security of those new Conquests.
