Will Be Launched by U. S. Navy Next Summer.

Washington, Dec. 11 "By air for the North Pole" will be launched by the navy during the coming summer, Secretary of the Navy Denby announced today.

President Coolidge has given his special approval to the project as of great practical value.

The route is still to be decided, a special board of naval officers headed by Rear Admiral Moffett, having been appointed by Denby to prepare detailed plans of the project. Robert A. Bartlett, noted explorer, who with Peary saw the Stars and Stripes raised over the Pole, has expressed a strong desire to be a member of the polar party, and will in all probability be one of those who will make the journey.
