Roberts Escapes Serious Injury In Car Accident

James Roberts, 814 Fleming street, escaped with slight injuries early Sunday morning when a 1949 Mercury car he was driving in Roosevelt boulevard near Raul's Restaurant collided with a tree and was completely wrecked.

Roberts suffered three cuts on his neck and face. He was taken to U. S. Naval Hospital by Jack A. Saunders, County Service Officer, who was passing the scene of the accident at the time it happened.

Patrolman Rene Raiole made an investigation of the accident. It seems Roberts looked over his shoulder for two friends when the car swerved against the tree.
