On Sabbath evening about 7 o'clock, a little daughter of Mr. Patrick Milligan, residing at No 1, North Federal Court, aged 2 years, crept into a small hole under the floor in the rear of the building, after a favorite cat, which with its litter of kittens, occupied the place. The entrance was so small as barely to admit the body of the child, and once in it was impossible for her to turn round. Not knowing enough to back out, the poor child remained in this confinement until 10 o'clock Monday morning. In the mean time the alarmed parents, assisted by the neighbors, made a diligent search for the missing child, the services of the City Crier being also called to their aid, but without effect. Almost despairing and hopeless of success, the father continued the search, mourning and calling upon his beloved child, when he heard a faint reply. Directed by the voice, the lost one was at length found, after being thirteen hours in that perilous position. When taken out the little sufferer was quite exhausted.—Boston Mail.
