Pensions for Veterans of '45.

WASHINGTON, Jan. 25.-The house committee on pensions to-day added an amendment to the Mexican pension bill and directed a report to the house as agreed upon. The bill authorizes the secretary of the interior to place on the pension rolls, at the rate of $8 per month, the names of all surviving officers, soldiers and sailors who served in the Mexican war for any period during the years 1845, '46, '47, and '48, or their surviving widows. No soldier whose political disabilities have not been removed shall be entitled to the benefits of the act.
