Pensacola, March 17— (FNS)— Pensacola virtually became the capital of Florida last week when Governor Holland, all members of his cabinet, many members of the "little cabinet" and a large group of legislators joined with the Young Democrats of Escambia county to pay tribute to Senator Philip D. Beall, president-designate of the State Senate.
A plaque to Escambia county's "outstanding Democrat and Citizen" was presented to the distinguished solon by Roy Mason, president of the Young Democratic Club at a banquet staged in his honor. Judge Ernest E. Mason acted as toast master and Governor Holland was the principal speaker.
Among the distinguished guests in attendance at the affair were Governor and Mrs. Holland, Richard Simpson, Speaker of the House; Secretary of State R. A. Gray, State Treasurer Ed Larson, Comptroller J. M. Lee, Supt. of Public Instruction Colin English, Commissioner of Agriculture Nathan Mayo, Chairman Thomas L. Johnson, of the State Road Department, and J. J. Gilliam, Director of Public Safety.
