Full Text

Hartford, Con. Nov. 11.

Unfortunate Accident.—On Monday last a gentleman, while travelling into this city, had his horse shot a few rods west of the store of E. & R. Terry. Upon inquiry it was found that two young men had been engaged in the very innocent diversion of firing at a mark in the range of the Albany turnpike, and not more than 60 rods from this road, which is travelled perhaps, more than any other road in the state. The horse has since died. A variation short of three feet in the range of the ball would have saved the horse, at the expense of the life of its driver.
